Weekend rides: BrimBUG conducts two weekend rides per month, suitable for various levels of fitness. All information about our rides is listed below. All rides run rain, hail, or shine!

Start From North Melbourne Railway Station
Distance 45 klms
Suits Adults, teens – Any maintained bike
Cost Free – coffee and lunch money
Description Meet at North Melbourne railway station and make our way to the Capitol Trail, proceed to the main Yarra Trail towards Meeri Creek, (coffee at boat house). Ride to Outer Circle Trail and Lunch stop at Hartwell. Returning to Federation Square via Monash Freeway Bike path.
An easy medium ride, with a hill or two.

Description This ride we’ll head along the Western Ring Road and on to the Deer Park Bypass – “Wellness Trail”. From there we’ll head in to a coffee shop situated on Caroline Springs lake. Then its a return to the start point via Kororoit Creek trail. We may even explore the new Isabella Williams creek Trail.

Time: 0916 am train from Parliament Railway Station Platform 4 to Croydon Station. Lilydale Line
Start: Riding starts Croydon Railway Station approx 1000 am
Distance: 55 klms (riding)
Suits: Any maintained bike.
Cost: Free, BYO nibbbles, Transport money
Description: Take the train from Parliament Station to Croydon Station (on the Lilydale Line) – or just meet at Croydon station - where the ride proper starts. From the main Street shopping strip we follow the Taralla Creek Trail (formerly known as Croydon Main Drain) for about 6 klms along a picturesque water course till we meet the Dandenong Creek Trail which we follow till we cross over Burwood Highway where we join Eastlink for several klms till we reach the turn off for Blind Creek Trail.This is an alternative trail which re-joins the Dandenong Creek Trail and in to Jells Park.
From refreshments at Jells Park its up and over the hilly sections of Scotchmans Creek Trail till we join the Gardiners Creek Trail and follow its course alongside the Monash Freeway on to the Main Yarra Trail and in to Federation Square. There are “Bail out points” at Bayswater station and Mulgrave Station.

Ride Report: x5 riders enjoyed this scenic cycling tour of the south eastern suburbs along a picturesque route. The hill(s) on Scotchmans Creek Trail were conquered without too much angst. Most cycling on established tracks. Distance covered – 50 klms.
