Report:    Well  attended ride (x15).   From Nth Melb we headed to docklands area & the Upside down cow sculpture.  Our route made its way past Polly Woodside and along to the northern banks of the Yarra – stopping at Banana Alley, The multicultural bridge crossing & Sandgate bridge before continuing to Burrurung Marr & the chimes.  We completed a circuit of the MCG taking in the sculptures of our sporting heroes then headed off through Treasury Gardens & on to the Petition scroll & parliament buildings.  Melbourne’s hidden “Madame Brussels Lane”, early dwellings & historical diggings were fascinating.  A look at Melb Gaol and then on to Exhibition fountain & gardens for rides end.   Thank you John for a fascinating tour of Melb & some of the “hidden treasures”.  Distance or ride under 15 klms.  As planned – cyclists made their own home journeys.
